slovakia partnership
In 2024, Catalyst Church began a partnership with Josiah Venture, an organization focused on introducing youth in Central and Eastern Europe to the saving power of Jesus and to connect them with local churches. In 2024 and 2025, we sent teams to support conversational English camps run by the Lutheran Church of Presov, Slovakia. The camps use English and sports to engage Slovak youth and provide a platform to present the Gospel. The teams from Catalyst served alongside youth leaders from the Presov church and Josiah Venture staff in all aspects of the camp.
We’ve also had opportunities to welcome Josiah Venture staff from Slovakia as they’ve connected with partner organizations in the US. Their visits have offered opportunities to learn more about the day-to-day work of Josiah Venture and to build important connections with those who are regularly working with students we’re only able to meet once a year.
This year, Catalyst will again send a team to Slovakia. The team will partner with a church from Petrzalka, Slovakia, as they host their first camp. The 2026 team consists of Peter Pelto, The King Family, Breinn & Civeah McDonald, Danny Deisinger, and Jordan & Anna Christiansen. Fundraising efforts are currently underway - we’ll host a fundraiser & informational lunch after the service on Sunday, April 12.
